Handy TT ("Handy TT", "we", "us") runs a website and mobile app (the "Platform") that connects people who need a service ("Customers") with independent people who offer services ("Professionals") in Trinidad and Tobago. You can contact us at handyttapp@gmail.com.
By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to these Terms, the Beta Programme Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
Handy TT is a technology platform only. We are not the employer, agent, partner or contractor of any Professional, and we do not perform any of the services listed on the Platform.
Any agreement for a job is made directly between the Customer and the Professional. We are not a party to that agreement.
We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, timing or result of any work, or that a Professional holds any licence, permit or insurance. A "Verified" badge only means we checked the documents described on the profile at the time; it is not a guarantee or endorsement.
Professionals are independent. They choose which jobs to accept and how to do them, and they are responsible for their own work, tools, materials, licences, permits, insurance and taxes.
You must be 18 or older. You must give true information and keep it up to date. One person, one account. Professionals must complete verification (ID, police certificate and photo) before accepting jobs, and must keep their police certificate current (renewed every 6 months).
Keep your password private. You are responsible for everything done with your account. Handy TT staff will never ask for your password or verification codes.
During the beta all payments are in cash, handed directly from the Customer to the Professional. Handy TT does not hold or process customer money. Card payments are not available yet.
Fees are shown before you confirm a booking. Currently: Customers pay a service fee (5% of the job price) and a contract fee (TT$6) per booking. Professionals pay a service fee (5% of their price). For bookings made through a Professional's own booking link, a flat fee (TT$5) is charged to the Professional instead.
Because the cash goes to the Professional, all of these fees are added to the Professional's owing balance with Handy TT. Professionals pay their owing balance by bank deposit or in cash, with a receipt uploaded in the app, and our team confirms it. If the owing balance reaches the limit shown in the app, the Professional cannot accept new jobs until it is paid.
We may place a hold on an account, an owing balance, a payout or a refund while we investigate a dispute, a safety report or suspected fraud.
If an account is disabled for breaking these Terms, the first and second time there is no fee, but our team must review the account before it is turned back on. From the third time onward a reactivation fee (currently TT$100) applies. We may waive it.
We may change fees. We will tell you in the app before new fees apply to new bookings. Fees already shown for a confirmed booking do not change.
Cancellation rules are shown in the app. Repeated cancellations can lead to temporary limits or a disabled account.
If something goes wrong with a job, use the in-app dispute tools within 30 days. We will look at the information available and make a reasonable decision, but we cannot guarantee any particular outcome. Disputes about the work itself are mainly between the Customer and the Professional.
Keep bookings, messages and payments arrangements in the app. Do not ask for, or agree to, payment outside the app's records, deposits to personal accounts, or moving the conversation to another app before a job is accepted.
Do not: post fake jobs, fake bookings or fake reviews; review yourself or someone you are linked to; pretend to be someone else; use another person's ID or documents; collect money without doing the work; harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone; break the law; or try to get around our fees, limits or security.
Take sensible safety steps: check the profile, keep chat in the app, tell someone where you will be, and use the SOS button or call 999 (Police), 990 (Fire) or 811 (Ambulance / EMS) in an emergency. Handy TT is not an emergency service.
We may limit, suspend or close an account, remove content, or hold money tied to an account if we reasonably believe these Terms were broken, someone is at risk, or the law requires it. You can delete your account at any time in the app (see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data).
To the maximum extent allowed by law: the Platform is provided "as is" and "as available"; we are not responsible for the acts, omissions, work, conduct or safety of any Customer or Professional; and we are not responsible for property damage, injury, loss, theft or disputes between users, beyond offering our in-app dispute tools.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, if we are found responsible for something, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid to Handy TT in the 3 months before the event. Nothing in these Terms removes rights that the law says cannot be removed.
You agree to cover our reasonable losses if they are caused by you breaking these Terms or the law, or (for Professionals) by the work you perform.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Trinidad and Tobago. If there is a problem, please contact us first at handyttapp@gmail.com and we will try to resolve it. If we cannot, the courts of Trinidad and Tobago will decide.
We may update these Terms. If the change is important, we will tell you in the app and ask you to accept the new version before you continue.
